Chilliwack Bruins Game

Christmas Shopping

This Thursday is your chance to get ahead of the game so you don't end up on Christmas Eve wandering the mall in a frantic mess. We will be going to Guilford Mall so you can get some Christmas shopping done. For those of you who don't like shopping I'll try and come up with a scavenger hunt of sorts. Or you can try singing Christmas songs to raise money for charity! Shannon will not be at this event as she is away...so this would be the perfect time to pick out her gift!

Corn Maze!

This Thursday (Oct 23) we are off to the Chilliwack Corn Maze!! Meet at the church at 6:30pm. The cost is $7. And dress like a farmer!!! Bring a flashlight and dress for the weather (rain or shine)...it can get pretty muddy so coordinating rubber boots with your farmer outfit would be ideal...and fashionable!!

A reminder: get your Manning Retreat forms and money to Shannon as soon as possible!

Food Bank this Thursday

Pool Party!!

There is a big schedule change for this Thursday (October 9). NO GYM NIGHT (the gym is all decked out for the Thanksgiving Banquet). Instead, we will be having a pool party at Joel's house!! Still meet at the church at 7pm unless you want to head straight to Joel's house. And bring your swimming attire!!

Gleaners!

This Thursday (Sept 25) we are off to the Fraser Valley Gleaners!!! We will be helping them prepare surplus fruits and vegetables that have been donated to be dried and made into soup for those in need. It's always a good time!! Plus, you get to wear an snazzy apron...what more could you want!? Meet at the church at 7pm. (Don't forget to wear close toed shoes and hair tied back.)

MCC SALE!!!!!!

Friday (Sept 19) is the Annual MCC sale where good times roll!! We will be BBQ'ing and serving Sausage on a Bun. Those who have signed up for a shift please meet at the Tradex a few minutes before your shift time. Head for the "Sausage on a Bun" stand (ask a volunteer at the entrance if you need help finding it). Also, if you don't want to wear a hair net bring a hat. For FoodSafe regulations we have to have our hair covered. I'll send out an email reminding you of your shift. And if you haven't signed up and want to help just contact Shannon.

The Chase this Thursday!

Haven't you always wanted the adrenaline rush of being chased through the streets of Abbotsford but without the prerequisite of doing something illegal first?! Well, then come on out for annual "Chase" this Thursday at 7pm! We will be dropping you off in groups at an undisclosed location and you will have to make your way back to the church without being caught by our "Chasers". So come prepared with proper footwear to walk/run and clothes for being outside.

Also, the MCC Sale is next Friday where we will be serving Sausage on a Bun!!!!!!!! There will be a sign up sheet on Thursday where you can sign up for a shift between 4-9 for about an hour and a half. So think about when you want to sign up and come prepared to do so on Thursday. It's gonna be awesome! I hope you have all finished your quilts for the quilt display as well!

On Thursday, September 4th the Sr Youth will Kick off the new school year with a games night galore! Bring your game face. This will mark the beginning of what is sure to be an epic year of Senior Youth! We will resume or weekly schedule of Thursday nights at the church from 7-10pm unless otherwise posted.

Also, Sunday School (Aka. "Learning Centre") will resume on September 7th. We meet Sunday mornings from 10-11am in the Ping Pong Room...the one with the weird smell.

BBQ at Cultus Lake

This Thursday (August 21st) we will be having a BBQ at Cultus Lake. We will meet at the church at 6pm and be back by 10pm. The cost is $5 and you can bring you swimming attire and alike!
This will be our last Summer event and so we would like to use this opportunity to invite and welcome the new grade 9's and also say goodbye to the graduated grade 12's! Come on out for a good time!

Hiking The Chief on Saturday, August 16th

On Saturday we are going to go to Squamish to hike "The Chief". We will meet at the church at 9:30am and be back around 6pm. Bring a lunch or money to buy one from a Subway like place. Also dress appropriately for a moderately difficult hike (ie. good footware, layers of clothing, etc) and bring water and snacks for the hike.

Sr Youth on Thursday, August 7th is a Pool Party at Ruth's house. You can go straight to Ruth's at 7:15pm or meet at the church at 7pm if you need a ride. It is a "Pool" Party so bring your "pool" requirements! See you there!

White Rock on July 31

Our next Sr. Youth event will be on Thursday, July 31st when we will be going to White Rock for the evening. Meet at 6:30pm at the church and bring money to go out for dinner in White Rock (ie. Fish 'n' Chips!). We'll just be hanging out along the beach so feel free to bring kites and skim boards and whatever else could provide safe and healthy beach fun!

Hike on Sunday July 26

For any Sr Youth interested we are going to go on a hike after church this Sunday (July 25th) up Mt Cheam! We will meet at the church at 1pm and bring a lunch or we may try and stop at a Subway on the way. Come prepared for a moderately difficult hike so wear good shoes and bring water and snacks and dress for the weather. We don't have the van so bring a couple bucks to help with gas for whoever is driving.

Cutlus Lake Waterslides Night Sliding and Concert Friday July 18!

On Friday, July 18th, the Sr Youth will be going to the Cultus Lake Waterslides for "Night Sliding" and concert by the band "Brimstone". The cost is $20. Meet at the church at 7:15pm and we will be home around Midnight.

Badminton Battle Night!

Come dressed old-school (let the images here in this post be a template for ideas!) and brush up on your German! Hook up the ol' horse and buggy and meet at the church at 7:00! Prizes will be awarded.

Progressive Dinner

This Thursday (May 8) we are going to be serving tea and coffee at the MCC Supportive Care fundraiser!!
